Blessington Community College
Blessington Community College is a co-educational, multi-denominational post-primary school serving the needs of the community of Blessington in Co. Wicklow. The college offers the full range of post-primary courses. We pride ourselves on the level of support and encouragement given to pupils of all abilities and we strive to help students identify and achieve their potential in terms of academics, sport, the arts and the other areas in which students may be talented. An important aspect of this is ongoing monitoring of pupils performance and achievement and working with parents to ensure all students are given every possible opportunity to achieve all they are capable of.
Sponsored Fun Run 22nd March 2013
Well done to all the students, staff and parents who took part in the sponsored fun run/walk. The event was a great success (in spite of the rain which poured during the run!). Over 5000 euro was raised for Chernobyl Children International charity and for the College. Mr. Curley will now be able to bring a significant contribution from the people of Blessington with him when he travels to Belarus during the Easter holidays to volunteer in Vesnova Children's Mental Asylum.
On the day the students wore fancy dress and took part in a Harlem shake. You can see a video of this below and can view some photographs taken on the day in the Photo Gallery section of this site.
We would like to thank all the parents who showed up on the day to help and support the event, the members of Lakeshore Striders running club who helped out and all those who sponsored prizes for the raffle.
We would also like to say a very special well done to Ms. McInerney and the TY students who organised the whole event and did a tremendous job.
