Effective communication between home and school is vitally important. We are refining our communication practices all the time, to strengthen the partnership between families and teachers, ensuring students benefit from a cohesive and supportive learning environment/
Google Classroom
Homework is recorded on Google Classroom (GC). Each subject and class has its own GC page. Students are given an access code to each classroom on the first day for each subject. Parents are invited to join GC to monitor homework, and to receive a weekly email summarising their students work.
TYRO
The TYRO app is our main method of communicating directly with parents as of January 29th 2026
BCC will send out letters, notifications, information and permission slips via TYRO only. Parents are also able to message their student’s teachers, tutor and year head about homework or uniform via the app.
Our weekly newsletter reports on all aspects of school news and events. Our Facebook page is updated very regularly with updates and news.
(SCW) is at 8.48 every morning. This time is dedicated to all aspects of student wellbeing, but also to keep students informed. We have a new digital noticeboard that is displayed at SCW every morning with up todate information.

We value our collaborative relationship with our Parents’ Council and keep in regular contact with them. We also have a digital comment board for parents to make suggestions and to let us know how we are doing.
